Needless to say, social media marketing is now essential for online marketing.
For social media marketing, channel selection becomes important. Should I use Facebook? Instagram? Twitter? LinkedIn? Or Snapchat? This depends on the target and the goal.
I worked on Instagram Marketing as an organizer of Japanese sake global community "Japanese Sake Lovers". I chose Instagram for a marketing channel because I thought that I wanted to visually express the appeal of sake and to get fans between 20s to 30s.
On this page I will report the successful experiment with my Instagram Marketing.
My current goal of Instagram Marketing is to acquire as many high-quality fans as possible. For me, "high-quality fans" means accounts that logged in, posted, and commented constantly by a human. The hypothesis that I set up to encourage these accounts to be fans is "If I meet the 5 steps, the fans surely increase".
The key is to inform people with the same hobby about the existence of my account and to show interest in the account from me.
If I speak like this, you might think "OK, but is it something special?” And my answer is “No, but yes”. This is simple tactics. This is kind of basic communication happening on Instagram daily. However, a lot of accounts simply fail to do this and struggling to have enough amount of quality fans.
Also, you should not regard this method as spamming. As I said, this is a recipe of basic communication on Instagram. So don’t do spamming, like just commenting “Great” or “Beautiful” on many accounts (I see this everyday). Do comment with your passion, otherwise, you will get meaningless fans.
I spent one hour each day for 3 days and spent a total of 3 hours in the experiment. Let’s say, if you hired a part-time and took 3 hours with an hourly wage of $ 12, it costs just $36.
In this 3 hours, I repeated the above steps 120 times. In other words, I have approached 120 people in a week.

The number of followers before the experiment was 239. The weekly impression was 1,683. Weekly reach was 361. 42 people viewed my profile.
After the experiment, the number of followers is now 306, which is 28% higher than before the experiment. The weekly impression is 2,099, an increase of 25% over before the experiment. Weekly reach is 426, 284 people view my profile.
Engagement to content posted after the experiment clearly increased than that posted before the experiment.
This is wonderful as a result of 3 hours of effort. I recommend that you increase the number of quality fans in this way, especially if your running an account with a small number of followers.
